Nicky & her family migrated to Australia from Zimbabwe in November 2002, after being forcefully evicted from their family farm of more than 20 years. The Mann family re-established themselves on the Central Coast of New South Wales growing hydroponic roses. In the 10 years of being in Australia –the business, A Dozen Roses & now Roses2Go – has won Florist of the Year 2007, 2009 & 2010; The 2008 Yellow Pages Business Champions Award; Top 5 Most Outstanding Business on the Central Coast 2 years running and Nicky herself has won a “Pride of Workmanship Award” from North Gosford Rotary & the 2009 Innovative Woman in Business Award & 2011 Winner of the Central Coast Women In Business for Retail & Tourism. Roses 2 Go also won Retailer of the Year in the Central Coast Business Excellence Awards 2011 & The Business Leaders Award in 2012. Nicky served on the Protected Cropping Australia board for 4 years. In 2013 Nicky became a Nuffield Farming Scholar.
